After nearly a decade of consistent training, I had the privilege of competing in the IPF British Powerlifting Classic Bench Press Championships on 23rd February. I originally entered the competition with the goal of fighting for silver, as there were some very strong lifters, but the competition went my way on the day and I walked away with gold! I’m also proud to have since been offered the opportunity to lift at Worlds in May.

Andrew made all three attempts. His 157.5 kg best was 15 kg more than he benched at his previous meet, the 2019 British Classic Championships (full power), and 7.5 kg more than his previous best competition bench of 150 kg, from the All England Championships in June 2019.
